Previous Performances - Beginnings

One of the first major performances under our former name Una Voce, the Choir took part, along with some 400 other voices from schools and choirs around the West Midlands, in the internationally recognised work by Alexander L’Estrange – “Zimbe!”    Zimbe! Consists of vibrant arrangements of traditional African songs depicting aspects of daily life in Africa, from a moving lullaby, traditional funeral songs, worship and gospel music, to joyful children’s playground songs, celebratory wedding songs and a raucous drinking song!  Following a full day of rehearsals, led by Alexander himself, the final performance drew tremendous applause from the capacity audience.
